Cheyenne activist Dean Johnson has reluctantly resigned from WOC's board of directors.
"I have come to this decision after much soul searching," Dean said in announcing his resignation at our last board meeting. "I will greatly miss the company of people who share a true passion for what I feel is Wyoming 's greatest asset - its vast, pure and uninterrupted landscapes."
Dean has recently joined a real-estate firm and is a board member of Habitat for Humanity's Cheyenne chapter. These new responsibilities, combined with his desire to spend more time with his two active children, convinced Dean that he lacks the time needed to be a fully active WOC board member.
"I have the greatest respect for WOC," Dean said. "And the greatest admiration for the people who unselfishly carry its mission forward with no motivation other than to help conserve and protect our state for future generations."
We will miss Dean's quiet convictions and thoughtful contributions to the board's discussions of environmental policy issues. We wish him the very best. |
