A Look at Wyoming Government

In 1958, the League of Women Voters of Wyoming published the first edition of A Look at Wyoming Government, a straightforward summary of governmental operations. In the foreword of the fourth edition (1979), the authors candidly state, "If we have not defined Wyoming, it is because we are not poets. Any real description of our state would have to begin with words such as blue skies, majestic mountains, tranquility, open space, rugged individualism, pure air, clean water and vigorous activity."

Fast-forward 45 years to 2003. Later this year, the LWV-Wyoming will distribute the eighth edition of A Look at Wyoming Government to public libraries and schools on compact disc. This classic reference guide aims to encourage informed and active participation in our government, especially among young people. It promises to be a good read for poets and non-poets alike. Watch for it.
