Casper attorney and mediator Bob Mullen has joined the WOC board.
A lifelong resident of Wyoming, Bob earned his B.S. in Zoology and a J.D. degree at the University of Wyoming. In 1976, he started a private law practice in Casper. From 1987 to 1995, he served as Casper City Attorney, then returned to private practice.
Bob is particularly interested in countering industry dominance in the debate over Wyoming's economy and environment.
"Industry's commercial messages promote a single ideology: that the unencumbered transformation of resources into private profit is a good thing," he says. "Some in business and government see a bigger picture, but they and members of the public often fail to express differing opinions for fear of being branded 'uninformed' or 'radical.'"
Bob believes that "WOC has the fortitude and skill to help check private greed and remind government of the importance of its regulatory role by promoting thoughtfulness and balance; compliance with the law; the availability of pertinent facts; an examination of potential consequences; and a meaningful voice for ordinary folks as well as those with special expertise.
"WOC's dedicated and capable staff have a demonstrated ability to champion the public cause," he says, "and I feel honored to be a member of its board." |
