Welcome to Jason Manson

by Amy Beatie

In June, WOC welcomed its very first summer legal intern, Jason Manson. Jason grew up in Springfield, Illinois, and attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After college, Jason took a year off from academics and worked in a bookstore in Springfield while writing his law-school applications.

Jason is currently between his second and third years at Vermont Law School (VLS), where he is president of the Environmental Law Society and actively involved in the development of an environmental law clinic. His interest in public interest environmental law was piqued as he began applying to law schools. After being accepted at VLS and visiting South Royalton, Vermont, the magically beautiful spot where the school is located, Jason's commitment to environmental law was sealed.

Karin Sheldon, VLS professor and long-time friend of the environmental movement, matched WOC and Jason for this summer internship. We could not be more grateful. Jason has hit the ground running - working diligently (and late) - and we look forward to spending the summer with him.

Reflecting on his first week at WOC, Jason said, "My experiences in Lander thus far have been everything I hoped they would be. I consider myself very lucky to have this chance to work on important environmental issues with such dedicated people in a setting like this."
