Ways of Giving
Gifts of Cash
An outright gift of cash is the simplest and most common way to donate to the Wyoming Outdoor Council. Because the Council is a nonprofit organization, you can deduct the entire gift amount from your yearly income taxes, up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income.

Gifts of Stock
One of the most advantageous ways to contribute to the Wyoming Outdoor Council is through a gift of stock. Making a gift of securities is simple and offers a number of valuable financial benefits:
- You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual fund.
- The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible.
- There is no obligation to pay any capital gains taxes on the appreciation.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you contact us when you make a transfer to ensure that we can identify the incoming shares as a gift from you. Please let us know your name and contact information, intended date of transfer, type of stock, and number of shares.

Gift Memberships
Looking for a meaningful gift that keeps on giving? When you give a gift membership to a friend or loved one, the recipient receives more than a card and the benefits of membership in the Outdoor Council—he or she gets a stake in protecting Wyoming’s amazing natural heritage. Make an investment in Wyoming and bring a new member to the Wyoming Outdoor Council. Give a gift membership with your credit card online. To ensure we receive all the relevant gift information in a timely manner, please also email us telling us the name of the recipient and, if you want that to be noted in the gift membership card, the occasion of the gift.
If you would prefer not to use your credit card, simply send a check accompanied by a note including the recipient’s name, address, gift occasion along with your name and address to: Wyoming Outdoor Council, 262 Lincoln St., Lander, WY 82520
Memorials and Tributes
We are always honored when asked to recognize, celebrate, or remember someone important to you. We will identify the individual with a listing in our annual report and we will notify the person or his or her family of your gift.
You may give an honorary or memorial gift with your credit card online. To ensure we receive all the relevant gift information, we would appreciate it if you would also email us stating whether it is an honorary or memorial gift and any additional information you would like us to have about the person in whose honor the gift is made.
If you would prefer not to use your credit card, simply send a check accompanied by a note including the recipient’s name, address, type of gift along with your name and address to: The Wyoming Outdoor Council, 262 Lincoln St., Lander, WY 82520

Bequests and Planned gifts

The work of the Wyoming Outdoor Council depends upon your goodwill. To that end, there are a myriad of easy giving options from which you can choose – from naming us as a beneficiary in your will, to designating the Outdoor Council as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy or structuring a life income gift with a trust arrangement.
Many people include the Wyoming Outdoor Council in their wills or other estate plans, but don’t always tell us they’ve done so. If you decide to remember the Wyoming Outdoor Council in your will, or if you already have, please let us know. We’d like the opportunity to thank you. We’d also like to welcome you to the Wyoming Legacy Society, which honors and recognizes individuals who make a commitment to Wyoming’s environment by including the Outdoor Council in their estate plans or by establishing some other deferred gift.
